Agree that the boiled peanuts, fried okra, and collards are great. Also agree with you on the hushpuppies. With the Southern food trend that swept the nation last year and this year, many restaurants in Philly started offering hushpuppies, and every single one I’ve tried has been wrong. Not necessarily bad, but just not right. I’ve given up on hushpuppies in this city.Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13525815183731645683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2049247612303434511.post-85985636161899160182011-12-01T12:32:04.905-05:002011-12-01T12:32:04.905-05:00OMG, I work down the street from this place and ea...OMG, I work down the street from this place and eat here WAY too often. So good! Try the po' boys next time-- being an herbivore myself, I must say that the vegan fried "chicken" po' boy is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The seitan sausage sandwich is fantastic too. I'm so glad you tried the fried okra-- definitely not easy to eat, but worth it!The Cozy Herbivorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07352090933839290505noreply@blogger.com
